my ref. site, some images I liked, and my rough idea so far

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_money

My background in art has led me to want to make some hierarchical jewelry making reference to the use of color as a form of wealth. Back during the renaissance the deep reds and blues were used sparingly and reserved for the rich and royal. My jewelry choice is a drop style earring. My colors will start with a very limited plain palate and gradually work its way up to full richness with additives of either blues or reds to reference the art history behind the piece.

  1. I would like to see some images of the colors used during the renaissance. The idea that the value of the color and what it takes to make such colors is interesting- maybe you could research some of the metals and minerals that go into the colors and use those in the pieces.

Also I am not interested in you going to the store and buying earring hooks and wires - you must find a more interesting way yo display you work for the crit.
